Description

A flange (also called a breast shield) connects the breast, breast pump (via tubing), and milk container in a breast pump setup. A one-piece flange cannot be separated into the shield and base connector; it is a complete unit.

Breast side – contact with a breast, areola, and nipple. Breast milk flows along the edge into the container. The size of a flange is defined by the diameter of the tunnel entrance, which is essentially associated with pumping comforts.
