Corporate Lactation Programs
Supporting breastfeeding employees in the workplace
Nurturing Expressions will help your company develop a Corporate Lactation Program that will support your employees while also protecting and benefiting your business. Corporate lactation and mothers’ room programs support and benefit mom, baby, and the employer. Studies indicate some employer-focused benefits include: decreased employee absenteeism, decreased employee turnover, and increased employee loyalty and productivity.
As the world continues to move toward remote work, supporting new parents is more important than ever. We work with companies to develop Corporate Lactation programs that work for you and your staff–whether they’re working on-site or from home.
What must an employer provide to workers who need to pump in the workplace?
Federal law requires employers to provide a reasonable amount of break time and a space to express milk as frequently as the mother needs for a minimum of one year after the child’s birth.
Nurturing Expressions is owned by a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who has personally designed this program to meet the unique needs of your nursing moms. Our program is customizable to meet the specific needs and budget of your organization. Renting or purchasing multi-user breast pumps, along with providing extra supplies such as milk storage bags, nursing pads, and cleaning supplies designed for breast pumps and parts is a great way to support your moms returning to work. Ideally, a mothers’ room should be a private space with adequate lighting, a table, comfortable seating, an electrical outlet, a sink, refrigerator, and possibly a microwave. Nurturing Expressions will successfully support your needs as a company and provide guidance while you support the breastfeeding moms returning to work.
