Breastfeeding & Chestfeeding Support

Whether you choose to breastfeed/chest feed, pump, bottle feed, or do a combination, our team is here to nurture you, so you can nurture your baby.

That’s where Lactation Consultants come in.

Lactation consultants are clinical healthcare professionals who specialize in lactation and infant feeding.   An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) has specialized training and has passed rigorous exams in order to better help lactating parents.  Nurturing Expressions offers one-on-one lactation consultations with an IBCLC to help all parents navigate nursing and lactation struggles.

Wendy Furumori, ND, IBCLC

I provide lactation services and postpartum care to parents in the perinatal period.  I’m trained as a Naturopathic Doctor in primary care with areas of clinical focus in anxiety and depression, women’s health, and diabetes and cardiovascular health.  I have always incorporated counseling into my practice and see a huge benefit in addressing mental health and its impact.  After personally experiencing my own difficulties with the absence of quality support as a new parent, I found myself drawn to working with this population.  I have spent the last 5 years shifting my clinical focus to breast/chestfeeding medicine and postpartum care.  I love connecting with the parents I work with and am not afraid to dive deep into difficult problems to help get to the root cause. My greatest hope working in this field is to be able to lessen some of the weight of this significant life transition.  I also love empowering the parents I work with to become more in tune with their own intuition.
